Location: Nechells/Aston, Birmingham – approx. 1½ miles from the city centre, outside the Clean Air Zone

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Additional Hours: Saturday mornings, 8:00am – 12:00 noon on a rota basis (Trade Counter, paid at overtime rates)

Nutters Fastenings Ltd is a well-established supplier of fasteners, fixings, tools and industrial products, serving trade and commercial customers across a wide range of industries. We are currently seeking an Internal Salesperson to join our busy Sales Department team. This role would suit someone who enjoys telephone sales and has an understanding of the engineering or construction industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving incoming telephone calls and emailed sales enquiries
• Processing enquiries through to quotation and order intake stage
• Offering problem-solving suggestions in response to enquiries
• Following up on quotations
• Maintaining good working relationships with the customer base
• Account management of larger accounts
• Promoting special offers and new products
• Providing occasional Trade Counter sales cover
• Participating in Saturday morning Trade Counter cover on a rota basis

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience in the Fastener Industry (beneficial but not essential)
• A background in an allied industry such as Hand Tools, Engineers’ Merchants or Builders’ Merchants may also be considered
• An understanding of the engineering or construction industry sectors
• Good telephone manner and sales ability
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A flexible and reliable approach to work
